(Website) Business School

A free educational email series!

It’s time to go back to school! Business school.

Well, website business school.

Or, less concisely, “Learn this stuff to get your feet under you before hiring a copywriter, designer, SEO agency, ads person, SMM, or anyone helping you with your business presence on the internet.

BECAUSE HERE’S THE THING:

You need to be able to be your own board of advisors.

You’ve got to be able to figure out what your business actually needs before you can bring in the right expert to support that.

Otherwise, every potential service out there– design, copy, SEO, etc— sounds equally yet generally helpful, and you might be making an incorrect assumption about whichever particular thing really needs your attention!

  • Maybe you think you need better design when the real issue is that not enough people are finding your website in the first place

  • Maybe you've bought a handful of $33 "Put more personality in your web copy!" workshops, but what you first need is a stronger and more interesting message underneath it all

  • Maybe you think you’re "doing marketing" by building/having/relaunching a website, but haven't really thought through how you plan to actively send people there (so common! No shame!)

  • Maybe you think new copy would be a slam dunk, but you’ve actually got pricing or core offer alignment issues you need to tend to first

So before you hire anybody, you need to do some detective work.

What most needs your attention to actually move the needle for your specific business and your specific problem or goals?

Nobody's really taught you how to think all of this through before… so that’s why I created this email series!

It’s not about specific micro tactics, and there are no checklists here (also fyi, there’s no hidden launch at the end!).

It’s more like helping you create a strategic mental framework for how the pieces of your website/marketing/overall presence come together, and how to figure out what to focus on.

By the end, you'll know what questions to ask yourself before investing in support, and how to think about your website as part of your bigger business strategy. You’re on your way to smarter, more strategic decisions about your website, your resources, and your business!
