Is it time for DIYing to be a little less alllll by yourself?

Team up with a copywriter for website content that makes your people go “YUP, I’m all in.”

Done-With-You Website Copy

At first, your resources are limited, you haven’t quite proved the concept yet, and your offers will shift at least one, if not 10, times. Your job then is to do your damndest to write a site that’s fine enough, go get clients, and learn a ton. (Hell yeah to making it happen.)

But eventually, sharing that link to your site starts to feel less like “Go look at my exciting new biz!” and more “Ummm, maybe just go look at my Instagram instead, okay?”

Maybe your web words now feel like a buttoned-up blazer that fit you, welp, about three years ago… and in your old corporate job. (Probs not the vibe anymore.)

Maybe reading your copy makes you feel like you keep getting caught out and about in your, shall we say, inside sweatpants… never in an outfit that says “cool & confident pro who (mostly) knows what she’s doing.”

Or maybe it just kinda doesn’t make you feel anything, really, because you still can’t figure out how to express yourself in a way that the right people will just get… and care about.

Early on in biz, it makes total sense to take on writing your copy (and maybe everything else, too) as a DIY job.

If you’ve been telling yourself, “UGH, I obviously know how to write, this should be easier for me”—kick that thought to the curb right now.

Writing your own copy all by yourself is like trying to read a label from the inside of the jar.

There are templates and freebies and podcasts and IG posts that can help, sure (and you’ve probably saved about a hundred)

But when you’re staring at the blinking cursor, putting the S-O-L-O in solopreneur, do you…

  • Have a sounding board and strategic question-asker to help you unearth, sift through, and find the brilliance in your own thoughts?

  • Have a clear roadmap to follow (ya know, one that’s a little more detailed than, “Okay, time to write my About page… which is about… me…”)?

  • Have the accountability to FINISH your draft… and the expert edits on your work to bring out its absolute best?

Nope! So it’s super normal that writing for yourself feels hard.

But thankfully, there’s a more supportive (and confidence-boosting!) way to bring your new words to life.

Done-With-You website content embraces progress over perfection, and supportive structure over winging it solo.

When we team up, you’ll go from draft to DONE with a partner, encourager, and guide. (That’s me!)

After just a few weeks, you’ll feel clearer than ever, with fresh momentum to get back out there and sell with words you’re proud of.

Instead of keeping your web words hidden, you’ll be psyched to share them, so don’t be surprised if you…

  • Start seeing better-aligned inquiries from people who feel SO connected to what you have to say

  • Breathe easier on discovery calls because your copy sets the stage so well

  • Find yourself actively marketing way more, because that offer you put your whole heart into finally has a clear message that resonates

When you feel differently about your copy, you feel differently about your biz. And the simplest, most powerful shift of all comes from swapping your old copy cringe factor for a self-assured, “Hell yes, this is me!” feeling.

Here’s how it works.

We’re the perfect team: you write the first draft with a complete guide from me, and then hand it back over to be polished and punched-up!

01

Strategy

We kick things off with a comprehensive brand questionnaire and 90-minute strategy call to help us get all up in your business, your voice, and your message. (Literally the same process that fully-custom clients get! You deserve it.)

02

Structure

I follow up with call notes, a mini-brand guide, and your Copy Companion, a page-by-page, section-by-section guide that walks you through writing the four core pages of your site. Blank page panic is now officially impossible.

03

Support

In 2-3 weeks, you pass your draft back over to me, and I take care of the rest! I get to work strengthening headlines, reorganizing sections, clarifying your message… whatever it takes to add power to your words and make sure they connect with your people.

The end result?

I deliver your polished (well-organized, copy & paste-able) web copy with a comprehensive video walkthrough, sharing the ins and outs of the changes I’ve made and why they work. You’re ready to launch (or relaunch) your site!

“Theresa is a mirror that takes you deeper into yourself and your business.

I was building new programs when I reached out. I wanted to maximize the trust I’ve built with folks to help them decide if I’m the right fit for them, without having to personally meet with everyone. The page needed to help make the sale, and I was also struggling to really hone my voice.

Theresa’s whole process was seamless (the Loom videos were super helpful and the Google Docs really well structured), and the final website felt like ME! The copy really spoke to my audience and we covered all the bases to ensure that the pages could stand the test of time.

She asks all the right questions, ensures that no stone is left unturned, and she’s ON IT all the way.

“Paying for copywriting was 110% worth the cost, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I am thrilled with the work that Theresa did on my website's copy! I feel like it perfectly explains the services I provide, the clients that I work with, and why I'm passionate about the business.

From the moment I first reached out to her, I felt confident in her ability to bring my vision to life through words. She took the time to truly understand my business, my audience, and my goals for the site, and used that knowledge to craft copy that perfectly captures the tone and message I wanted to convey.

Meet your copywriter

Hey hi hello, I’m Theresa!

People say that copywriting is “the art and science of words that sell,” but here in my corner I go with poetry and psychology.

My Master’s in Creative Writing? It’s the toolbelt that helps me capture the authentic brand voice that sets you apart. (Yep, I literally went to poetry school!)

And my background in marketing and communications? I’m deep into the intel behind why and how people will know, like, trust, and buy from you.

When we work together, your new words will feel like holding up a mirror to the truest, most confident, most fully expressed version of yourself and your biz. It’s delicious. And in just a few weeks, it’s totally doable.

Real talk: this process isn’t for everyone. (That’s okay!)

These are the key ingredients for a successful collab.

Done-With-You Copy might be just the right solution for you if:

  • You’re a newish, service-based biz ready for some professional & collaborative support with your words

  • You’re looking for copy that can grow with you as your biz evolves

  • It’s not that you “hate writing”—you just need a clear roadmap to follow

  • You’re able to prioritize writing your copy within a specific 2-3 week period

If you can’t stand writing, have a hunch you’ll probablyyyyy wait til the last minute (hey, I get it), don’t have the life/biz capacity to write right now, or want the most in-depth and detailed process possible, this isn’t the best fit for you!

In that case, check out Brand Messaging + Custom Web Copy instead.

When we work together, I’ll ask you a TON of juicy Qs…

But it’s your turn first!

  • Nope! The done-with-you copy process is awesome for relatively fast and flexible copy that can grow with you as your biz evolves—that’s why it’s particularly good for newish businesses.

If you’re in the phase of biz where you’re ready to go deep into detail and strategy, the Brand Messaging + Custom Web Copy process is a better fit for you.

  • Not quite! Way back when, I used to offer a glow-up service of my own, but I ultimately found that editing your existing copy wasn’t as effective (or cost-effective!) as working within a specific web copy framework together. That’s why even if you have some existing web copy, we’ll still follow a collaborative and structured writing process that I know gets results.

  • Great! That means you’ve got plenty of material already on hand to borrow from.

Even if you already have a draft, though, we’ll still be working within the specific web copy framework that’s part of this process. That’s because it’s a tried-and-tested structure, so when I go in to edit your work, I’m not spending time reordering sections and moving things around—with that already taken care of, I get to focus on making your words clearer and more powerful!

  • Good Q! Put simply, you definitely need to know what you offer & who you offer it to.

It’s totally fine if you’re still narrowing in on exactly the type of person you love working with, but if you’re still deciding whether you’re doing wellness coaching or home organization, or 1:1 sessions vs. a group program, you’ll need to solidify that first.

Beyond that, if you’ve got the willingness to write your way through a first draft of your site, I’m ready for you!

  • You’re totally welcome here! Bookkeepers, coaches, marketers, educators, and dietitians (and more!) have been just as successful in this process as authors and other professional writers.

The key is just that you have a willingness to give it your all and get words on the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect! But the more effort you put in, the farther I can take it for you.

  • In my experience with a wholeeee bunch of clients, 2-3 weeks is the sweet spot for writing because it gives you some breathing room without offering lots of space to procrastinate or overthink! (If you’re sensing I personally know a little something about this, you’re not wrong…)

I don’t typically encourage project timelines that stretch it out much longer, because you risk losing your momentum! But if you have a particular need or situation you’d like to discuss, I’m happy to talk it through with you before we move forward.

  • We talk through specific dates and milestones that will work for you during the proposal process, and I always encourage you to think about your capacity in life & biz as we plan your project period! We want to set you up for success, not add another thing to your plate during a busy time.

If an actual emergency gets in the way, of course I’m happy to work with you to adjust. But in general, since I set aside space in my client schedule specifically for your project, if you miss your deadline you may need to wait a few weeks (or more) until I’m available again to finish up.

  • Easy! Truly. The copy doc makes it super clear what’s a headline, subheadline, button, you name it, so you (or your designer) can literally copy & paste the text over onto your site.

Need a designer or template recommendation? I’m full of ‘em!
